Easy Slow Cooker Habanero Queso Blanco Dip

You know those certain dips? The ones where you have “one last chip” 17 times before you can finally put it away?

This habanero queso blanco is definitely one of those dips. It’s incredibly melty, gooey, spicy, and a great copycat of your favorite Mexican restaurant’s version.

Not only is it delicious, it’s incredibly easy to make for hosting or just for a special treat. At only 5 ingredients, this queso is a cinch to prepare and only needs around an hour in the crockpot. Cause who wants to wait all day before they can start dipping chips?

If you try the recipe I would love to hear your feedback in the comments! And don’t forget to pin for later!

This easy slow cooker habanero queso is the perfect recipe for hosting. You may want to make double since this dip never lasts long at a party!

ingredients:

1 pound white american cheese cut into ½ inch cubes (*see note below)
½ cup habanero shredded cheese (use pepperjack for a milder taste)
8oz. block of cream cheese cut into ½ inch cubes
1 Tablespoon Salted Butter
4 oz. can diced green chilies
4-6 tablespoons of milk
Crumbed bacon and jalapenos for garnishing (optional)

instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients except for milk into a small slow cooker.

2. Turn slow cooker onto high, stir after 30 minutes and stir occasionally afterwards until all ingredients are incorporated.

3. Once all ingredients have melted (about one hour after starting), slowly add a tablespoon of milk at a time and stir. Add additional tablespoons of milk until desired consistency is reached (I used 5 tablespoons).

4. Garnish if desired and serve!

NOTES:

**most queso recipes use white American cheese found from the deli where you will typically need to ask the deli staff to cut you a 1 pound slice.

I used a 16 oz. package of Kraft white american cheese singles since I was shopping at a store that didn't have a deli and cut the block into cubes. It turned out perfectly creamy and delicious.

White american cheese is essential for the right consistency so whether you find yours from the deli or in the cheese aisle, make sure it’s white American and not regular american!
